BASE METAL PRODUCTS

Base metals refers to industrial non-ferrous metals excluding precious metals. These include copper, lead, nickel and zinc.

It includes, in addition to the four above, iron and steel, aluminum, tin, tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, cobalt, bismuth, cadmium, titanium, zirconium, antimony, manganese, beryllium, chromium, germanium, vanadium, gallium, hafnium, indium, niobium, rhenium and thallium.

Base metals are used in a wide variety of applications from electrical wiring (copper) to batteries (lead), as well as to strengthen and harden metal alloys (nickel) and to coat and protect more reactive metals, such as iron (nickel and zinc).
